Meg. HC: State's Guidelines for Conservation of Waterbodies Fall Woefully Short of Expectations - 24.07.2023

Meghalaya High Court has observed that State's Waterbodies (Preservation and Conservation) Guidelines, 2023 failed to protect waterbodies, particularly the Umiam Lake, as they fail to address issues such as the permissible distance of construction from the high-water level of waterbodies.
