JKL HC: Prosecution Must Prove Safe Custody of Contraband Upon Seizure to Avoid Acquittal - 27.06.2023

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court while observing that Section 55 of NDPS is enacted to ensure police keep alleged contraband in safe custody to rule out possibility of tampering with it, has held that burden lies on prosecution to prove safe custody followed to avoid acquittal of accused.
