Kar. HC: SHO Can Seek Magistrate's Permission to Investigate Non-Cognizable Offence - 21.06.2023

Karnataka High Court while observing that it is not necessary for the informant alone to approach Magistrate with requisition seeking permission under Section 155(2) of CrPC for registration of FIR for a non-cognizable offence, has held that it can either be sought by complainant or by SHO.
