SC: Sanction for Prosecution U/S 197 CrPC Required for Acts Done in Excess of Official Duty - 19.06.2023

Supreme Court has held that sanction for prosecution under Section 197 CrPC is required not only for acts done in discharge of official duty but also required for any act purported to be done in discharge of official duty and/or act done under colour of or in excess of such duty or authority.
