SC Rejects Plea Challenging Section 62(5) Representation of the People Act, 1951 - 05.05.2023

Supreme Court has refused to entertain plea challenging Section 62(5) of Representation of the People Act, 1951 that denies prisoner right to vote and observed that the same has already been upheld by court in Mahendra Shastri v. UOI (MANU/SC/0212/1983
) & Anukul Pradhan v. UOI (MANU/SC/0752/1997
).
