SC: S.16 of Carriage by Road Act Apply only to proceedings in Connection With Damage to Consignment - 02.05.2023

Supreme Court has held that provision of Section 16 of Carriage by Road Act, 2007 doesn’t come into play vis-à-vis condition of giving a notice in respect of claims for damages for loss of reputation, business opportunity etc. as such claims are not in connection with damage or loss to consignment.
