Cal. HC Quashed Rape Case Where Question of Marriage Arose After Consensual Physical Relationship - 01.05.2023

Calcutta High Court while quashing proceedings against accused for alleged offence of rape, has observed that if physical relationship between accused and victim was consensual and issue of marriage cropped up after such relations, the same would not amount to false promise to marry.
