Bombay HC: Consent of Spouse Not Necessary for Organ Donation - 28.04.2023

Bombay High Court has observed that Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994 makes no mandatory requirement for spousal consent for organ donation especially for a spouse withholding consent unreasonably or for extraneous reasons.
