Gau. HC: Confession to Police Officer in Absence of Magistrate Can’t be Basis for Conviction - 30.03.2023

Gauhati High Court while acquitting a woman who was convicted for murdering her husband has held that confession made to police officers in absence of magistrate cannot be basis for convicting accused for offence under Section 302 IPC, as the same is inadmissible in evidence.
