Bill developments in Parliament

The Lok Sabha passed the Regional Centre for Biotechnology Bill, 2016. The Bill encourages education, training and research in the field of biotechnology. It also increases the impetus for enhancing institutional research.

Also approved by both houses of Parliament was the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2016. It will enable several States, including Haryana, Kerala and West Bengal, to modify the list of Scheduled Caste persons.
