SC to UP Govt.: Decide Plea for Remission Within 3 Months of Prisoner Becoming Eligible - 07.02.2023

Supreme Court while issuing slew of directions to institutionalize the process of pre-mature release of prisoners, has directed UP Government to dispose of the case for premature release within three months from the date the prisoner becomes eligible, and not to be arbitrary in their decision.
