Foreign investment in real estate, infrastructure, alternative funds allowed

MANU/APDR/0027/2016

The Reserve Bank of India allowed foreign investment in the units of Investment Vehicles registered and regulated by Securities and Exchange Board of India and other competent authorities.

Vehicles included are Real Estate and Infrastructure Investment Trusts and and Alternative Investment Funds. The extent of foreign investment in the corpus of the Vehicle will not be a factor in determining if downstream investment of the Vehicle concerned is foreign investment or not.
