SC Applies LARR Act for Mahanadi Coalfields Acquisitions of 1988 - 07.11.2022

Supreme Court while granting relief to several persons who were displaced by land acquisition by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd in 1988, has held that Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (LARR) Act, 2013 will apply to the persons in four villages whose lands were acquired for coal fields.
