SC: Wife Conceiving Out of Forced Sex Can Seek Abortion Under MTP Act - 29.09.2022

Supreme Court while observing that rape must be held to include ‘marital rape’ for purpose of Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, has held that wives who conceived out of forced sex by husbands, will also come within ambit of ‘survivors of sexual assault/rape/incest’ mentioned in MTP Rules.
