Gujarat HC: 5 Days Period to Register FIR From Date of Seizure Mandatory Under GMR, 2017 - 08.06.2022

Gujarat High Court has held that registration of FIR within 45 days from the date of seizing machinery involved in illegal mining activities is mandatory under Rule 12 of the Gujarat Mineral Rules (GMR), 2017, failing which, the authorities would be liable to release the seized material.
