Karnataka HC: Criminal Proceedings Cannot be Held Ex-Parte Unless Attendance Dispensed With Reason - 02.06.2022

Karnataka HC has held that a criminal trial can’t be held in the absence of an accused unless personal appearance is dispensed with for valid reasons. There can’t be dispensation of examination of an accused under section 313 CrPC if incriminating evidence appears in the statement of the witness.
