Calcutta HC: Writ Court Cannot Impose Penalty In Exercise of Plenary Jurisdiction - 13.05.2022

Calcutta High Court has ruled that a writ Court in exercise of its powers under Article 226 of the Constitution cannot inflict a penalty which is not contemplated in the concerned statutory rules in exercise of its so called plenary jurisdiction.
