CESTAT Waives Detention and Demurrage Charges for Goods Confiscated by Customs - 12.05.2022

Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal, Mumbai has ruled that a remission of detention and demurrage costs was appropriate because the goods had been under seizure and subsequent confiscation by the Customs Department for more than two years for no fault of the appellant/assessee.
