Delhi HC Criminalizes Marital Rape; Holds Exception 2 Of Section 375 IPC Unconstitutional - 11.05.2022

Delhi High Court has passed a split verdict challenging the Exception 2 of Section 375 of Indian Penal Code, 1860, exempting forceful sexual intercourse by a man with his own wife from the offence of rape. The court stated that the exemption to the husband from the marital rape is unconstitutional.
