E-Waste Management Rules, 2016

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notified the E-Waste Management Rules 2016. The new Rules have expanded applicability which now includes manufacturers, dealers and others to prevent leakage of e-waste at various stages in the informal sector. Compact Fluorescent Lamp and mercury containing lamps have been brought under the purview of the Rules, and Producers’ responsibilities have also been enlarged.
