RBI seeks feedback on concept paper on Card Acceptance Infrastructure

The Reserve Bank of India is inviting comments on its Concept Paper on Card Acceptance Infrastructure till 15 April 2016. The Paper proposes structured policy intervention to promote electronic payments by individual and institutional users, filling in the gap left by market forces. Accepting the growth of “less-cash” electronic payments over the years, the Bank proffers a multi-pronged strategy to address acceptance of card payments, safety and security and rationalisation of merchant fees for card transactions.
