SC Asks DMRC to Seek Forest Clearance to Cut Trees for Delhi Metro Phase-IV Expansion - 29.11.2021

Supreme Court has held that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) needs to obtain the forest clearance under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980 to cut trees for the Phase IV expansion plan. The Court has directed the DMRC to file an application before the Chief Conservator of Forests under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi(GNCTD) under the Forest Conservation Act seeking permission for felling of trees.
