SC Quashes Criminal Case Against Girl Accused of Abetting Suicide of Man by Refusing Marriage - 20.09.2021

Supreme Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a girl accused of abetting suicide of a man by allegedly refusing to marry him. The Court has reiterated that Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 will not be attracted if there was no positive act on the part of the accused to instigate or aid in committing suicide.
