Delhi HC: Benefits of CM Advocates’ Welfare Scheme to Extend to All Registered Advocates - 13.07.2021

Delhi High Court has ruled that the benefits of the Chief Minister's Advocates' Welfare Scheme have to be extended to all advocates registered with the Bar Council of Delhi, and are residing in the National Capital Region (NCR). The Court has observed that the CM's Advocates' Welfare Scheme has a laudable objective; however its condition that it would apply only to Delhi residents with Voter ID cars is discriminatory and arbitrary.
