Delhi HC: Obligation of Father to Support Son Not to End When Son Attains Majority - 16.06.2021

Delhi High Court has held that the obligation of a father to maintain his son under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 would not come to an end when the son attains the age of majority after reasoning that the entire burden of his education including other expenses would fall entirely upon the mother. The Court has directed that a sum of Rs. 15,000 per month is to be given as interim maintenance till completion of his graduation or starts earning, whichever is earlier.
