P&H HC Quashes Kidnapping Charges Where Minor Voluntarily Married to Man - 08.06.2021

Punjab & Haryana High Court has quashed kidnapping charges against a man, noticing that the minor girl performed the marriage with the man with her own free will. The Court has further clarified that the husband is in relationship with the girl and in terms of Sections 19 and 21 of the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 read with Sections 6, 10 and 13 of the Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956, husband has a right to hold as the natural guardian of the minor Hindu girl who is married to him.
