Tax Policy Research Unit and Tax Policy Council set up

The Ministry of Finance has created a Tax Policy Research Unit and Tax Policy Council on the basis of recommendations made by the Tax Administration Reform Commission. Whereas the TPRU has been tasked with providing independent analysis on topic referred by CBDT and CBEC, the Council strives to maintain a consistent and coherent approach to tax policy.
