Calcutta HC: Freedom Fighter's Widowed/Divorced Daughters Having No Income Entitled to His Pension - 12.04.2021

Calcutta High Court has declared Clause 5.2.5 of the Guidelines for Disbursement of Central Samman Pensions followed by Authorized Public Sector Banks, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, as being violative of Article 14 of the Constitution of India, 1949 after observing that widowed/divorced daughters stand on an equal footing with a spinster daughter as heirs of the deceased freedom fighter.
