Indian Railways launches e-Procurement and e-Tendering systems

The Ministry of Railways launched Works Module of Indian Railways E-Procurement System and Implementation of 'e-Tendering in Works Contracts'. The new system is hoped to bring transparency and efficiency in the tendering process. At present, the Indian Railways deal with nearly 25,000 tenders involving an expenditure of over Rs. 35,000 crores for maintenance and upgradation of its undertakings manually.
