SC Allows Withdrawal of PIL Seeking Enactment of Uniform Act for Regulation of Marine Fishing - 09.03.2021

Supreme Court has allowed withdrawal of Public Interest Litigation filed seeking directions for enactment of an uniform act to regulate the marine fishing for protection of rights and interest of traditional fishermen. The Court has granted the petitioners liberty to approach the Madras High Court and make representations to the Government in respect of the new policy namely, the National Fisheries Policy Draft 2020.
