Bombay HC Grants Varavara Rao Bail on Medical Grounds in Bhima Koregaon Case - 22.02.2021

Bombay High Court has granted bail on medical grounds to 81-year-old Varavara Rao, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Bhima Koregaon case, who has been under custody awaiting trial since August 28, 2018. The Court has observed that it was a "genuine and fit" case for granting relief in view of the advanced age of the petitioner and inadequate facilities at Taloja jail hospital.
