# GST Changes Applicable From 01.01.2021: Biometric Verification Required for Registration - 29.12.2020

Rule 8 and 9 of the Central Goods and Services Rules, 2017 has been amended to provide for the biometric verification, Aadhaar authentication and taking photograph or taking biometric information, photograph and verification of such other KYC documents for the applications for new registration. The period for granting the registration has been increased from 3 days to 7 days.
