AP HC: Tobacco Does Not Fall Under Definition of ‘Food’ under Food Safety Standards Act - 26.11.2020

Andhra Pradesh High Court has reiterated that tobacco does not fall within the definition of "food" as specified under Section 3(i)(j) of the Food Safety Standards Act, 2006 and therefore, registration of First Information Report against its manufacturers is not permissible.
