New procedures in light of DGFT’s move to IT

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade notified new trade facilitation measures across all offices in India and its New Delhi Headquarters. In light of its move towards paperless and ‘personal contact free’, the DGFT has barred persons not working at its offices from entering the building. Persons seeking to meet with an officer will require permission from the Head of Office or a person not below Joint DGFT. Under the newly announced measures, queries will have to be made over e-mail, which will be replied to within 48 hours. Physical submission of documents can be done via speed post or with the Office Reception in the DGFT office.
