Income Tax Simplification Committee reveals recommendations

The Income Tax Simplification Committee, headed by former Justice R.V. Easwar, has released its first batch of recommendations for public perusal and comment. The Central Government had formed the Committee in October, 2015 with the remit of finding: litigation-inducing legislation; impact on ease of doing business; simplification of the Income Tax Act; and suggestions to bring certainty and predictability.
