Chhattisgarh HC: Special Court Under SC-ST Act Has Power to Direct Registration of FIR - 02.11.2020

Chhattisgarh High Court has held that the Special Courts constituted under Section 14 of the Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has power and jurisdiction to invoke provisions contained in Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and direct for registration of First Information Report and investigation.
