Gauhati HC: Promotions to be Based on Efficiency, Not Reservation - 19.01.2016

Gauhati HC has ruled that promotion of State Government employees belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) would be based on reservations only after Government makes an assessment of backwardness of communities in relation to their representation in promotion cadre.Until then, promotions would not be based on reservation but on their work efficiency.
