Composition and Ownership of Deposits with Scheduled Commercial Banks

The Reserve Bank of India released data related to the composition and ownership pattern of deposits with scheduled commercial banks as of March 31, 2015. Some highlights from the List of Statements include the household sector being the largest contributor of total deposits at 60.1 per cent, followed by government and the private corporate sector contributing 14.4 per cent and 10.1 per cent, respectively. Public sector banks accounted for the largest share in total deposits at 73.2 per cent, with private sector banks holding 19.9 per cent.
