MoU between Airports Authority and Singapore approved

The Union Cabinet has approved signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Airports Authority of India and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise. The agreement is aimed at bringing-in Singaporean expertise in civil aviation to help in various airport functions such as master-planning, commercial development, improvements in service quality and cargo handling. Jaipur and Ahmedabad airports will be first to benefit under the agreement, with scope for including other airports in the country. The agreement marks the first time the Airports Authority of India has awarded an operation and maintenance contract to maximize non-aeronautical revenue.
