Madras HC: Interim Custody of Seized Property Does Not Confer Ownership - 07.01.2016

Madras HC has held that cash and valuables recovered by police while investigation need not be handed over to their owners pending trial since criminal courts only decide on granting interim custody to person who have better claim and it is up to civil courts to decide on lawful ownership after it.
