Report on revitalising PPP model of infrastructure development released

A Committee formed to revisit and revitalise the Public Private Partnership Model for infrastructural development has released its Report. PPP, provision of a public asset and service by a private partner who has been granted a ‘Concession’ to do so, has been a mainstay in Indian infrastructure development. The Report expounds the benefits of the PPP model and urges utilising the same to meet the growing infrastructural needs of the country. It also calls for greater oversight and transparency in the process to reduce ‘malafide action’, while also not punishing ‘bonafide intention’.
