Supreme Court Wants Guidelines for RTI Use, Says "Cannot be Unrivalled Right" - 16.12.2019

Supreme Court has observed that while it was not against the Right to Information Act, 2005 however it cannot become a tool to blackmail the Government thereby warning of a "fear paralysis" in the Government because of alleged misuse and overuse of the transparency law. The Court further added that Guidelines needed to be framed to stop that abuse.
