Rajya Sabha Passes Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Sixth Amendment) Bill, 2019 - 13.12.2019

Rajya Sabha has unanimously passed a Constitution (Amendment) Bill to extend reservation for ten more years to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. However the Opposition benches questioned the Centre’s decision to stop the practice of nominating people from Anglo Indian community to Lok Sabha and certain State Assemblies.
