Delhi High Court Seeks Centre Stand on Plea Against Blocking of Dowry Calculator Website - 11.12.2019

Delhi HC has sought the Centre's response on a plea challenging blocking of a website hosting a "dowry calculator", which according to its owner was created as a satirical comment on the existing dowry demand in society. The Court issued a notice to the Ministries of Electronics and Information Technology, Women and Child Development and Communication, seeking their stand on the website owner's petition which claimed the site was blocked by Govt in Sept last year without giving him a hearing.
