Lok Sabha Passes Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill, 2019 - 28.11.2019

Lok Sabha has passed the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill, 2019. The Bill seeks to merge the two union territories into one. It was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Lower House that the merger of the two Union Territories located along the western coast near Gujarat will be done for better administration and checking of duplications of various work.
