Calcutta High Court Judge Accepts Recusal Plea on Ground of Being Facebook Friend with Lawyer - 16.09.2019

Calcutta High Court Judge has recused himself from a hearing a matter after a party raised objection over his being a Facebook friend of an appearing counsel. The Court observed that it appeared that the Counsel’s contention is that if a Hon'ble Judge has a friend on Facebook who is a member of the Bar then that is a reason for him to recuse from the case.
