Calcutta High Court: Accused has Right to Remain Silent - 06.09.2019

Calcutta High Court has exonerated a convict from a murder charge by observing that Section 106 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 does not discharge the prosecution from proving its case beyond reasonable doubt and that an accused has the right to remain silent without being adversely affected by the same.
