New Initiatives for Social Justice and Empowerment

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment released its Year End Review 2015, describing the various initiatives undertaken and achievements of 2015. Of those listed, Accessible India Campaign was the most recent. It is aimed at achieving universal accessibility for persons with disabilities, focusing on better access into buildings, public transportation and information communication technologies. The Ministry also mentioned ‘The Persons in Destitute (Protection Care & Rehabilitation) Bill 2015’ which was been sent to all States and Union Territories for comments and suggestions.
