Bureau of Indian Standards Bill, 2015
The Bureau of Indian Standards Bill, 2015 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 6 August, 2015. The Bill provides for the creation of a national body, the 'Bureau of Indian Standards', which will define and maintain standards in the country. The core activities of the BIS are envisioned as standard formulation and certification of articles and processes under licence.
