Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Amendment Rules, 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (3) of section 18 of the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Rules, 2003, namely :-

1. Short title and commencement.--

(1) These rules may be called the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Amendment Rules, 2019.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Rules, 2003, in the Schedule, in paragraph 8, for the words "sixty days", the words "One hundred and twenty days" shall be substituted.
